The Cove

The documentary focuses on an area in a small town and cove in Japan named Tajii, which is being used for the capture of Dolphins for international parks around the World. The rest are killed, sold as relabelled whale meat, and poisoning its own people with the high level of mercury.

Despite what seems to be a universal recognising for the ousting of whale hunting over the years the slaughter of dolphins continues, the killing of dolphins has always been a grey area, which is fully exposed in this powerful documentary.

What makes 'The Cove' even more powerful is that the main man leading the documentary, Richard O'Barry who helped the entertainment industry of dolphins in captivity in 1960's America, is now fighting to stop the capturing and killing of these dolphins. Richard feels he is responsible for what has happened and his passion and the passion of his team are shown in full.

The documentary has real drama with the group of activates trying to be one step ahead of the authorities. The documentarys conclusion is a shocking revelation of what is going on behind of the cameras eye of the bay, and the slaughter within the Cove.

Shocking, relevant and important. The cove is a well meaning and well structured documentary which will hopefully make a difference, and will touch all who watch, making un missable viewing.
